Tired of clunky prescription lenses?
LASIK is an acronym for a procedure called laser in-situ keratomileusis, which reshapes the cornea using a cool beam laser to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. LASIK surgery is a quick, easy, and hassle-free way to improve your vision. In fact, millions of people have found freedom from eyeglasses and contacts, thanks to LASIK surgery.
Afraid of
Traditional LASIK
Surgery?
Afraid of traditional LASIK? Consider bladeless iLASIK.
Millions of Americans are less dependent on eyeglasses or contact lenses, thanks to LASIK. However, fear has caused millions more to avoid or postpone experiencing the benefits of LASIK surgery. If you are one of them, Bladeless iLASIK surgery at Carolina Eyecare Physicians may be right for you.
Bladeless iLASIK makes the procedure safer, more precise, and more comfortable than traditional LASIK surgery. Bladeless iLASIK technology has given many of our patients the confidence they need to finally get the vision of their dreams.

Bladeless iLASIK surgery
is different than
traditional LASIK
surgery
All LASIK surgeries begin with the creation of a flap on the surface of the cornea, followed by a laser treatment that takes place under that flap. The most common method of creating a corneal flap involves a microkeratome (a hand-held device that uses a blade), but during a bladeless iLASIK surgery, Dr. Solomon uses the precision of a computer-guided laser to create the corneal flap. This laser delivers micron-level accuracy more than 100 times greater than can be achieved using a microkeratome. It gives Dr. Solomon more control over the procedure and the ability to create a corneal flap with more precise dimensions and thickness. The entire procedure generally takes less than 20 minutes.
Bladeless iLASIK’s unparalleled and consistent accuracy is a factor in delivering a successful outcome and may make LASIK a viable option for patients who previously did not qualify, such as those with thick corneas.
