Are You Too
Nearsighted
for LASIK?

Have your friends had LASIK laser vision correction, but you are too nearsighted, so you’re still wearing those thick glasses? Consider Visian™ and Verisys™ implantable contact lenses. LASIK has proven to be excellent for correcting some vision problems, but it cannot help the very nearsighted. If you have been told that you are too nearsighted for LASIK and lack other options, ask Dr. Solomon about Visian and Verisyse lenses. These implantable contact lenses and are placed between the corneal surface of the eye and the iris or just behind the iris.

While the Visian and Verisyse implantable lenses are similar to intraocular lenses (IOLs) used in a cataract procedure to replace the clouded natural lens, they work WITH the natural lens, which remains in place.

Verisyse™

Many nearsighted patients who have not been candidates for LASIK laser vision correction may benefit from the Visian lens, which can be used to correct moderate to severe myopia (nearsightedness). Without disturbing corneal tissue, Dr. Solomon can help them to achieve the excellent quality of vision they have always wanted.

The Visian ICL is a small, foldable implantable lens that is designed to remain in place within the eye without maintenance, although an eye surgeon can easily remove or replace it if the patient’s needs change. Unlike a contact lens, the Visian ICL does not dry out or become dirty.

This revolutionary lens is made of Collamer®, a highly biocompatible material that contains pure collagen. Because Dr. Solomon positions the lens behind the eye’s iris, it cannot be seen by the naked eye.

Visian™ Implantable
Collamer Lens (ICL)

This remarkable new lens implant, may give you the distance vision you have wanted and set you free from those heavy glasses.

In a quick outpatient procedure, Dr. Solomon implants Verisyse in front of the eye’s natural lens, between the cornea and the iris.

First, drops are placed in the eye to make the pupil smaller. A local anesthetic is administered to keep the patient comfortable. The Verisyse lens is implanted in front of the pupil; it is attached to the iris, which holds the lens in position.

This lens implantation procedure has been performed more than 150,000 times worldwide. While the Verisyse lens is designed to be left in the eye permanently, the procedure is reversible, if desired.

"I was not nervous, but a little thing like the anesthesiologist holding my hand and Dr. Solomon ...going over each step and telling you what he's doing while he's doing it is very, very reassuring."

-Leanard Del Rosario, M.D., LASIK Patient
